According to the Sept. 16th 1863 entry of Lt. Col. William R. Carter's diary, Gen. Hays commanding the Louisiana Infantry brigade sent a party across the river at Raccoon's Ford and captured 31 Union prisoners.

Does anyone have any non OR details of this? Isn't there a book on the Tigers?
