LOST TRIUMPH by Tom Carhart

Just finished Carhart's book.Would be interested in any and all thoughts from better students than myself of Carhart's premise that Lee was too good a tactician to use on ly 13,000 of his troops on 3rd day of Gettysburg for a frontal attack.Stuarts mission on East Calvery Field was to attack the center rear but was was stopped by Custer. Was in Gettysburg last summer ,guide did not mention East Calvery Field.(please excuse spelling)
