George Barnard Photos of Manassas

George Barnard, famous photographer of the war, took many pictures of the Manassas battle area in March 1862. One of the better-known photos is titled "Union Cavalry at Sudley Ford". In this photo, there are 4 children (2 boys/ 2 girls) in the foreground and Union cavalry on the other side of the stream. (This photo and his others can be found by googling "Sudley Ford".) In my opinion, these same boys in this photo appear in several of his other photos taken at the same time. I am assuming these are local children. Does anyone know who these children might be? I've got some ideas from looking at the census but would love to know if anyone has ever identified these children. Any thoughts on the children's ages in any of these photos? I had very distant relatives in this area but no one of these children's ages. Still it is pretty neat to think that my kin may have known these children. It would be interesting to find out what happened to them as well. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this! Thanks!
