I am looking for information on a John M. Dowdy, CSA. He was WIA at the battle of Kernstown on 23 Mar. 1862, discharged on 13 June 1862. He died a short time after that. I do not know what unit he was with, the only thing I do know is that the unit was from around Lynchburg, Campbell County VA.. Any help that you can give me would be great.
