Charlottesville Light Artillery

I'm looking for information on my great grandfather's Confederate service record. I believe he may have been in the Charlottesville Light Artilley (Capt. Carrington's Company of Light Artillery). My ancestor's name was John Franklin Shephard. Sometimes he is listed as Shepherd, and as John F. or Franklin. One source lists a private John Shepherd in the Charlottesville Light Artillery. My ancester was born abt. 1828, and is listed in the 1860 census as living in St. Anne's Parish, Albemarle Co., VA, with the Post Office listed as Charlottesville. I would appreciate any information that might confirm that this is my ancestor. Thanks in advance. Please e-mail me directly at durvin@verizon.net
