I found out the troops engaged at Davis Farm

Accounts by members of the NC Cavalry brigade would have one believe that they routed Barlow's entire I Division, II Corps.

The correct answer is that only the Consolidated Brigade of Barlow's 1st Division was engaged.

The entire brigade was not engaged. The 63rd NY built breastworks and picketed. Report of Capt. Alexander Watts OR Vol. 40, Pt. 1, p. 348. The 69th NY put up intrenchments. Report of Capt. Robert H. Milliken OR Vol. 40, Pt. 1, p. 349.
