Even though we do not know the losses for Buford's 2 brigades on Oct. 11, 1863, we can guess the loss.
The 2 brigades lost 190 casualties during the Bristoe Station Campaign.
Oct. 11th was the only day of hard fighting for the division.
If we deduct 50 men for the division's skirmishes during the campaign, this will probably cover the losses adequately.
This leaves 140 for Oct. 11, 1864.
We therefore have a total of:
Known Loss: 264
Buford's Loss: +140
Total: 304.
