Compiled Service Records
In Response To: Re: Compiled Service Records ()

Hello

I have only just resumed the search for this man after very many years away mainly because Ancestry have just uploaded much civil war material.

While I did not find him there (mainly because I do not have Ancestry WorldWide membership) I thought that I would try Google and to my absolute astonishment - he was there !!! I spent years and much money and effort in the late 1980's and throughout the 1990's and found very little (mainly because family history research and the internet were both in their infancy).

In those days most records were on microfilm, microfiche or paper and it was all very hard work.

I was looking for him on behalf of a friend of mine who had just purchased his medals from when he was in the 1st Battalon of the Rifle Brigade (Depot), London District.

I have quite a lot of information about him and his British army life. I have a copy of what I believe is the entry in the Parochial Register of his birth. I also have a copy of a photograph of him.

Would anyone be interested in me transcibing / scanning all this for them?

My mission is complete and my is work done - thank you all.

Regards
