I am trying to get as much info on my ancestor James Lowry Montgomery. He was a farmer from Washington county Va. enlisted in the Confederate Army 6/20/1861. He served in the 48th Virginia Infantry co. B He was taken as a POW 7/8/1864 at Harpers Ferrey, was sent to Old Capital Prison 7/23/1864 and to Elmira 7/25/1864- released on oath on 7/3/1865. I have found a bit of info on the 48th but not much on Company B. Any info that may give more details on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
