5 Baldwin brothers, 4 died

My g-g-grandmother, Nancy Estep (Baldwin) had 5 brothers that served during the Civil War and four did not survive. They were residents of Boone County, WV.

Andrew Baldwin, (unit unknown). Family lore says he was a confederate who was killed in action in the latter part of the war. Born 1833.
John Baldwin, Co. "B" 36th VA Inf. KIA at Fayetteville on 9/10/62. Age 21.
Joel Baldwin, Co. "B" 36th VA Inf. KIA during skirmish near Strasburg, VA on 8/17/64. Age 27.
David Baldwin, Co. "E" 7th WV Cav. WIA at Cross Keys on 6/8/62. Age 23.
Isom Baldwin, Co. "C" 4th WV Inf. Died of typhoid fever on 10/5/64. Age 18.

Also quite tragic is that their father, Jesse Baldwin, also died during the war. One date says Dec. 10, 1863, another says 1864 and a note in a family history states he was killed alongside Joel at Strasburg.

I have become quite perplexed to find no record of Andrew Baldwin. He is listed in the 1850 census in Boone Co. and I found a note that there was an Andrew J. Baldwin listed in the 1860 Hardy Co. census, but have been unable to view it. He has just disappeared. What are the possibilities that he was in a unit that kept no roster? I would hate to think that he was marked as unknown and buried in an unmarked grave and therefore disappear from history.

I was also wondering about what could have been the circumstances surrounding Jesse's death. He would have been 50 at the time, so it is possible it could have been natural, but is it also possible that he could've been a civilian casualty and if so, why him?

I am also curious about the aspect of brother fighting against brother, as in this family, and how they came to choose their loyalties. Isom's Union regiment was present at Fayetteville when his Confederate brother John was killed. How could he have felt about that? Also, I am curious about the post-war attitudes when opposing family members and neighbors returned home. I live in the Northwest and it is rather Civil War deficient when it comes to this type of research.

If there is anyone who has any information on any of the above or ideas on how I can proceed in finding "lost" information, it would be greatly appreciated.
