Follow-up. He was born on December 4, 1831 and died on February 20, 2011. He enlised October 11, 1862 in Winchester, Virginia. He was "paroled" May 2, 1865. My father has the original pistol, holster and saddle bags. According to a death notice of March 3, 1911, he never took a human life during his time in the war. He was Married on April 17, 1866 to Ms. Augusta Smith. The surviving daughter Mrs. H. A. Boley (my ancestor) and four grand children were the only surviving people at his funeral. He is buried at Greenwih cemetery.
