Corporal Andrew Hoge was killed (on Culp's Hill) by a shell which cut off one of his legs close to his torso, according to fellow soldier Ed Peck, as reported by Dr. Harvey Black, in the book, A Surgeon With Stonewall Jackson. Initially buried near Gettysburg, years after the war he was presumed to have been reinterred in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
