General Lomax's name on West Point records was Lunsford Lindsay Lomax but family and friends called him Lindsay which was his mothers maiden name. The Lindsay name has been incorporated into every generation of his oldest daughter's descendants till this date (2013). L L Lomax married Elizabeth Winter Payne, daughter of Dr. Alban S. Payne. Her uncle was the confederate general on that side of her family. L L Lomax and Elizabeth Winter Payne Lomax had two daughters, Elizabeth Lindsay Lomax who married Waddy Butler Wood( a famous Washington, D.C. Architect). She died in 1951. The other daughter was Ann Paige Lomax who died in 1961. Both daughters are buried on the reverse side of their parents tombstone in Warrenton Virginia.
