I do not find him in Capt. Pegram's Company, Virginia Light Artillery. But came across this North Carolina soldier.

Served in the Civil War. received information from Wash. D. c. archives that a James Lynch served in the Civil wAr from Halifax Co. but I wasn't given any birth date. He enlisted at Garysburg, N. C. on June l, 1861 under company officer, W. a. Johnston. He was listed as:
* Wounded 5/19/1864 Spotsylvania Court House, VA
* Absent wounded 8/30/1864 (place not stated) (Estimated day)
