Lt Col George E. Deneale

Looking for information on Lt Col George E. Deneale who was authorized to raise a regiment of Choctaw for service in VA.

I found a piece of an entry in the Jeff Davis Papers but the previous page (435) is not available online (Google Books). This is from page 436 and probably Dec. 3, 1861:

"offering company of Choctaw warriors to John B. Floyd, directs secretary of war to authorize and instruct Col. [George E.] Deneale about organization and transportation of troops to Virginia."

Does anyone have easy access to this book that can provide the first part of this entry from page 435?

Deneale left Richmond on or about Jan. 3, 1862 and arrived in the Choctaw Nation on Jan. 16, 1862. The Choctaw originally supported the plan but, after about 360 men had been mustered, a dispute arose in May 1862 and the Choctaw Nation refused to allow the wagon trains carrying arms and equipment to leave the Choctaw Nation, apparently by order of Brig Gen Albert Pike, commanding the Indian Territory (present Oklahoma).

It appears Deneale was paid as LTC through at least September 1862 as commanding "Choctaw Virginia Regiment". There is also a payroll (bounties and clothing allowances) recorded in Richmond in July 1862 but I believe this is the recording of payments made in March in Indian Territory. There was an audit of Deneale and his AQM to account for the funds spent for the failed project. I'm fairly certain no Choctaw accompanied him back to Richmond.

I'm uncertain on which "George E. Deneale" this was and what he was doing before and after his trip to Indian Territory. ANY info would be appreciated.
