I hope this is not too far off topic but it does concern the CW and Alabama. I can remember a couple of cemeteries out in the country that I ran across when I was younger and more concerned with hunting and camping than anything else, that contained a marker of a CW veteran. Now that I'm retired I went to visit one of these cemeteries only to find that the land has been closed to access. (It is isolated in a large track of wooded land) More than likely owned by a big timber company. My question is can access, for research and inventory purposes be legally restricted in this state? Is there a procedure to obtain access in these cases?
