If anyone out there has any information that they would share with me on the 30th Alabama Infantry, especially muster rolls that may show the name of a soldier named James R. Houston of Talladega, AL, I would be very appreciative. For years, I thought that he did not serve in the Confederate Army, but it has been brought to my attention that he in fact did serve, at least for a period of time. I do not know the length of his service, where he fought, etc, but I do know that he survived and moved to Lawrence County, Alabama in the late 1860's, early 1870's. If anyone can give me any information on the regiment, or on James Houston, please contact me at dbrown0398@aol.com.
