Don't have any James R. Houston showing up in the 30th AL, but there is a "HUSTON, William A., jr." who enlisted on 12 March 62, at Talladega, aged 16. Could this be a brother or son? Relatives often joined the same companies, and it's possible that James "slipped away" from the records...
