That is possible. I suspect that Samuel R. Parsons of the Camp of Instruction is the same as the one in the 12th Ala. Inf. Susan says that one of the pension applications says that he joined an artillery battalion, too. I wonder if this Land's Company of Alabama Militia could have been a militia artillery company. I also wonder if he could have been an artillery instructor at Talladega. Very strange that there is only one member in the NARA microfilm for this unit! I sure would like to see that card. I guess it would be found under "Misc. Alabama Units" in the microfilm. Next time I have a chance, I'm going to see if I can find it.
