Here's a little on Company "B" of the 3rd Reserves from my notes:
Company “B” of Shelby County
Wilie H. Pope. Formerly Captain of Company “C”, 25th Alabama Infantry Regiment. Paroled at Selma, Alabama, June 6, 1865.
Organized at Montevallo, Alabama, April 15, 1864, officers and men mustered there May 24, 1864. They reported at Camp Withers near Selma, Alabama, July 27, 1864.
W. D. Bulger, formerly 1st Lieutenant of Company “A”, 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment, was appointed Major August 5, 1864, and Lieutenant Colonel August 16, 1864.
A check of the message board archives will reveal extensive discussions and exchange of information on this command. The official records includes several references to the 3rd Reserves, and at least one lengthy passage concerning Brooks' Regiment was posted.
Also, papers on Wylie Pope collected by a descendant are available at the Birmingham Public Library.
