I am trying to find a J. Durant who possibly served in the 15th CC. I think he may have been fatally wounded, but am not sure which regiment he served in. I have responses to another post saying that he may have served in the 23rd AL Infantry, Co I, the 15th CC or the 34th AL Inf. He would have enlisted probably in Baldwin Co. He is listed on the 1850 census in Walton Co, FL but we believed moved to Baldwin Co. shortly thereafter. We show his wife remarried in 1864, so believe he may have been killed in 1862-63. Would you have any information concerning this gentleman? His given name was Joseph, but may have been listed as J or even last name Durand. Any information would be appreciated.
