I can help you on the 53rd Alabama. I have over 15 years of research on this regiment, including much previously unpublished info. I can track them every day of the war. I also have a lot of biographical info on the veterans of the 53rd. Independence is in Autauga Co. About 1/2 of Co. E was recruited from Dale Co., and the rest from Autauga.
