Re: Texas reunion, Sabine Pass soldiers
In Response To: UCV reunion in Dallas TX 1902 ()

My wife's best friend has a photo of the veterans of the Battle Sabine Pass, Texas. The reunion was undoubtedly held in Texas, as all the troops were from Texas. The photo is about three feet long by one foot high! In the background is a sign that reads something to the effect "50 defeated 5000, Sabine Pass". Looks to be about all 50 were present, though I haven't counted the vets. The photo was taken sometime in the 1910's or after, judging by the cars in the photo.

I can find no one that has ever heard of a Sabine Pass reunion. I've asked about it on the Texas board, and no one there knew about it, either.

If you happen to come across anything on this while looking at the 1902 reunion material, please let me know.
