Looking at the NARA microfilm for the 12th Mississippi (16th Confederate) Cavalry, both Albritton and Andrews were lieutenants of Company "H", the unit I described in an earlier post. The other lieutenant's name was Hutton.

Ball's/Hatch's 8th Alabama Cavalry served under Armistead's command, but I cannot explain why this man would cite that regiment as his actual command. Sometimes veterans provide misleading or confusing information like this. There may be a reason, but I can't understand it.
