Re: Behrens 3rd Infantry Co.F
In Response To: Re: Behrens 3rd Infantry Co.F ()

OK, here is the story. My GGGrandmother, who was said to be a widow, married my GGGF in 1865, in New Orleans and listed her maiden name as "Behrens" for the first 3 children born in NO. On the 4th child she listed "Weidley". The story is they were from Mobile so I was looking for a Behrens in either LA or AL and found Bennet on the Ancestry.com records. Of course they don't list where these records were found. It list "3rd AL Infantry Co.F" I'm not sure if it's the Met. Guard. I also found a John Behrens in the 20th LA Infantry Co.F but can't find a roster for that Co either. If he died in the War she should have filed for a pension from him. Or were they not married long enough? No children!
thanks
