Re: Col Harry Toulmin of the 22nd AL Infantry

Perhaps someone will benefit if we add a few dates of promotion and source references:

Harry Theophilus Toulmin, elected 1st Lieutenant of the "Sam Cooper Rifles" which organized at Mobile, Alabama, August 19, 1861. This company entered state service under Captain Wilton L. Young on August 25, 1861. Members mustered at Richmond, Virginia, September 12, 1861, and held elections September 28, 1861. Captain Young was relieved by sentence of a court martial on October 24, 1861. The following day the company was accepted in Confederate service and new elections held. As a result, Toulmin became Captain and the "Sam Cooper Riles" returned to Mobile to join the 22nd Alabama.

Captain Toulmin was wounded at Shiloh, Tennessee, April 6, 1862. Appointed Major November 12, 1863, to rank September 20, 1863. Promoted Lieutenant Colonel February 11, 1864, to rank December 15, 1863; Colonel August 30, 1864, to rank July 28, 1864. Surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina, May 1, 1865.
