I too have ancestors who were in an Arkansas CS unit (19th, Dawson’s) who was ½ NA. It is my assumption that mixed bloods would have been fairly common in Arkansas units (especially those formed in western Arkansas). Many of the Southeastern Indians who first moved west went to that State. This sounds like a worthy project on a much-ignored subject.
