In Response To: Swords who Died in Civil War ()

From the Broadfoot list (Roster of Confederate Soldiers), Pvt. Benjamin A. Swords, 1st Sgt. James B. Swords, and Pvt. Shelton Swords are all listed in the 4th AL (Russell's) Cavalry. Benjamin has no company designation, but the other two are listed in Co. "I" -- although James apparently was also in Co. "F".

Also find Pvt. Thomas F. Swords listed in Co. "I" of the 4th (Russell's) Cavalry, but not the other two (Andrew or Ervin). There is a Pvt. Irvin Swords listed in Lewis Cavalry Battalion, Co. "C", but no Andrews in AL units. These are the only potential matches for Andrew in the list:

Swords, A.J. GA 2nd Cav. Co.D Sgt.
Swords, A.J. MS 41st Inf. Co.F
Swords, A.J. NS Horse Arty. White's Btty.
Swords, A.J.T. AL 31st Inf. Co.B Cpl.
Swords, Alonzo MS 12th Inf. Co.E
Swords, Andrew J. GA 1st Reg. Co.F
