Re: Swords who Died in Civil War

COmpany "I" of Russell's Regiment is a good match for these Marshall County Boys. The unit was a merger of two local units, Patterson’s Company organizing at Guntersville, Alabama, August 1,1862, Fennell’s command forming at Moore’s Spring, Alabama, September 19, 1862. The two mustered at Taylor’s Store, Tennessee, as Companies “A” and “E”, 15th Tennessee Cavalry Battalion, and combined when this regiment assembled.

Company "C" of Lewis's Battalion was another Marshall County organization, first raised as May's Home Guard.
