Peter A. Rogers
In Response To: Rogers - Greene County ()

I have this information for the Peter A. Rogers in Co. A of the 5th AL Bn, but I can't determine "absolutely" if this is the man I'm looking for.

Rogers Peter A.
Enlisted Mar. 13 1862 in Sumter Co. Ala. Wounded at Manassas Va. Aug. 30 1862. Admitted to Richmond Va. hospital Sept. 22 1862. Furloughed to Gainesville Ala. [30 days] Sept. 26 1862. Returned to duty [Mar.] 1863. Detailed to Richmond Va. hospital Apr. 8 1863. Transferred to Co. C, 4th Miss. Cay. Reg't. Apr. 28 1863, S.O. 103/13 A.&I.G.O.

My Peter A. Rogers was from Greene Co. while the majority of the men of Co. A of the 5th Bn were from Sumter Co. Still, I know there is some sort of connection between this Rogers family and Sumter Co., especially post-war. If I had a birthdate or enlistment age for this man it would be helpful.
