My GG Grandfather,Zachariah C. Graham, also of Co E 51st took the oath in Feb 65. You mentioned that your ancestor was forced to take the oath. What do you base this on.I can only hope they were forced but am not sure.I do have record where GG Grandmother recieved pension and I am under the impression pensions were not granted to spouses of deserters. Any info would be appreciated.
