Re: Co. E, 51st Alabama Cavalry

Records of the 51st Alabama Cavalry include only two of these names: F. L. (Frank?) and Lewis A. Jones. Both were paid for service from July 31, 1863 to the ened of the year. Receipts were dated Sevierville TN Feb. 14, 1864.

When time allows, I may check pension applications and the 1907 veterans census for St. Clair County. Surely the U.D.C. works in mysterious ways. I'd like to know where this particular chapter produced the Jones records. Perhaps the ADAH in Montgomery has some carded records on them, or perhaps they served in other commands.
