As stated earlier: Lt Jones served in the 6th
Ark; he commanded his company simply because
he was the remaining company officer late in
the fight at Shiloh; he was not a resident of
Ark prior to the war; he was there on business
at the outbreak and decided to enroll there;
following Shiloh, he resigned and returned to
Walker County.
