I count the 21, 22, 25, 26, 16, 17, 18, 19, 31 regiments, and the 4th Bn. Which is 2+ brigades. Not bad.
Most of the first-raised AL regiments were sent to Virginia, since that is where the immediate need was. AL regiments raised later (in 1862) tended to be kept in the west. Several other AL regiments were in the west (eg, the 1st AL at Island No. 10) but not at Shiloh.
