His mother filed a claim for any money due him when he died. Records indicate he died either March 10 or 24th in Dalton, GA, where the unit spent the winter. Cause of death - disease. Abbreviations - no descendants (his mother's claim said "no airs") sup and verified - possibly supported?? She said she was a widow and had been for three years. She was awarded $155.24 by the Confederate government. It is highly doubtful that his mother retrieved his body. Someone else might be more familiar with Dalton burials.
