John M. Powers, Franklin Blues

John M. Powers, Co. Unit Name: Franklin Blues, was recently added to the Alabama Civil War Service Database.
Remarks: Commissioned 1st Lieutenant Dec. 26, 1860. Authority: General Officers in Confederate Service
from Alabama, Franklin Co., SGO17701. [I do not know what this means or how to find out.]

The extent of my computer expertise is Google. I have not found him listed with the Franklin Blues, also know
as the Tuscumbia Blues. I found references to both Franklin and Lauderdale counties for this company.
Could not find him or his wife Adeline on the 1860 Lauderdale census.

This is my first glimmer of hope in finding my great great great grandfather John M. Powers who never returned home after
the War. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
