I'm glad to report that I have solved the mystery of how and where Jacob Wiley Sanders of Tallapoosa Co., AL died in the Civil War. First, he was not the Wiley who died at Burkeville, VA. Instead, Jacob Wiley joined the 1st Alabama Inf. Reg't, Co.A, was captured at the Battle of Island #10 at New Madrid, MO, spent a month in USA military hospital in St. Louis, was transferred to and died in the infamous Camp Douglas in Chicago. Is buried At Confederate Mound in the Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago. His name is on the 13th bronze panel. I appreciate the suggestions given! Thank you, Paul
