Dear, Sir, thank you very much for the information. Pvt. James S. Preston was killed in action, so, maybe, the James Preston you found who was killed was possibly him? Earlier, he may have moved from his dad's home in Wilson Co., Tenn. down to Alabama to live with one of his older brothers after he was old enough to leave home. I'm assuming this is what he did because Thomas P. Preston, William Booker Preston and Joshua Earl Preston all fought in Alabama Infantry Regiments.
