I'm quite sure they would have been transported by boat (via Tensaw River) to Hurricane Landing. This is about a mile north of where Blakely is located and on the same side of the river. From Hurricane Landing the Mobile & Great Northern railroad picked up heading toward Pollard AL. and on toward Montgomery, AL., then eastward.
