Billy Gilmore Greys / Gilmore Greys /14th Alabama

Anybody know who the Gilmore[s] were that Co. E and Co. F of the 14th Alabama Volunteers was/were named for? Both of these companies were raised in Chambers County in 1861. I've not seen anything in print or at ADAH regarding this. I've looked at the 1860 Census and there seem to be a couple of likely candidates but none that I can identify positively. There doesn't seem to have been anyone with that surname in either company. Hard to positively identify who it might have been without any other evidence. Curious to see if anyone has any thoughts on this.
