I have several letters from my 5th Great Grandfather, Francis M. Thaxton. He was a private in the 49th Alabama Infantry, Company E. He was killed in Jackson, MS in 1863 at age 22. I am always interested in other 49th Alabama material. What is the content of the letter? Do you have more than one?
