Pam --

According to his record on the 1900 census of Wilcox County AL, Jesse Thomas Reaves was born in April 1847. Based on the law of Feb 17, 1864, at age 17 he should have enrolled in the Alabama Junior Reserves. I've already looked for him in the register of students at the University of Alabama.

What else do you know about him? Where can his family be found in 1860 and 1870? Are there dates from a grave marker or death certificate. Who are his other family members?

One other note. In 1907 Alabama conducted a veterans census of all those living in the state who claimed to have been in Confederate service. The census taker did not require proof; just a statement and a few questions answered. I don't see his name on that, either.
