March 10, received at Camp Chase, Ohio prison March 24, subscribed and swore allegiance to the United States June 13, 1865, 28, resident of Cocke Co., Tenn., fair complexion, light hair, blue eyes, 6’ 1/4”, no further records
Card #1 of his file records an Adjutant General, U. S. Army internal note dated Sept. 10, 1922 with an apparently misfiled record for:
B. F. Brigg, Co. E, 61st [sic] Regiment Tenn. Cav., captured January 20, 1865, Cock Co. Tenn., sent to Chattanooga, Tenn. March 10,1865, they note, “We fail to locate him,” The note mentions:
Benj. F. Bugg or Brigg, Pvt. Co. E, 16 Tenn. Cav. with no amplifying information.
Note, I would suspect this note was in response to the Tennessee State Board of Pension Commissioners
