Re: James C Capps - 1st Arkansas Inf Co I

The notes from my grandmother's diary: "I've been able to research as far back as James Calloway Capps born in 1819 in Tennessee. He married in Schuler County, MO in 1840 to Havy Bell, bn 1821. He is buried in Camp Creek Cemetary near Muldrow, OK. No one has been able to tell me where she is buried. Their oldest child Miranda, bn 1841, was great grandmother to me (Lenora Kinsey Cook). Their youngest child Silas Vineyard, bn 1857, was grandfather to Ralph Cook. Miranda married her first cousin, Vineyard Bates Capps, in 1857 or 58. He was son of Hiram and Elizabeth Bates Capps. Hiram was a brother to Calloway." When I trace Vineyard Bates, I do find he is a son of Hiram, but have found nothing to link Hiram and Calloway.
