1st Arkansas Mounted Rifles Battalion CSA

Can anyone shed some light on this Battalion? The only reference I have found of them was when they were consolidated with Reeve's 15th Missouri Calvary and unidentified companies of the 38th Arkansas Infantry, to form the companies O, P, R, S, and T, of the 15th Mo Cav. in December 1863. My understanding the 1st AR MR BN were a part of the Garrison captured/surrendered at Port Gibson.
I am trying to determine if men from Lawrence County, Arkansas were members of the 1st Ark Mounted Rifles Battalion. the 15th MO Cav History by Jerry Ponder has a wealth of information regarding this unit. a private William Cooper, of the 1st Arkansas MR BN was a wounded and captured during the Wilson Massacre in Ripley County on December 25th 1863.
