Jay, my notes are boxed up in the course of some remodeling we're doing around here, but off the top of my head I know that several of the men who were captured in the Ripley County incident were members of Lieut. Col. Batt Jones' 8th (aka 1st) Battalion Arkansas Infantry, who had been captured and paroled at Port Hudson. As you know, there were quite a few Lawrence County men in the battalion and many of them were captured on December 25, 1863.
