Tilmon Bayne, a confusing question

Hello. I have good reason to believe that a man named Tilmon Bayne was probably a first cousin to my great grandfather, Dee Bayne.
Tilmon's dad was named Henry Bayne (Henry, the dad born in Kentucky and mother in Virginia) while my great grandfather Dee aslo had a brother named Henry Bayne who was born in Feb. of 1861.
It seems quite possible that Dee (my great grandfather) may have had an Uncle Henry for whom the just older brother was named.
The time frames and places that I know such as Kentucky and Virginia for Tilmon's family match.
(Believe it or not, I am just trying to discover more information, not add to the confusion. )
Tilmon is buried at the National Cemetery.
My question is who did Tilmon serve with?
Thanks a bunch.
Linda
