Message for Bryan: Lt. Col. Charles F. Baker

Lt. Col. Charles F. Baker took his parole at Shreveport on June 18,1865. He identified himself with the "3rd Cherokee Regt., Vol. Cavalry" and a resident of Grand Saline, I.T. (I take the 3rd Cherokee Regt. to be J. M. Bryan's Regt. for "Special Services" recruited in the Spring of 1865.) In Goodspeeds History of Benton, Washington, etc. Counties, there is a bio on a Doctor C. F. Baker who resided and practiced in Maysville. There was not much on his CW career other than that he served in MO, AR and the IT, and that he was paroled in Shreveport, LA. I suspect they are the same person. My question is: do you have anything on a Charles F. Baker that may have served in NW AR and the IT? Thanks in advance for your help. Hugh Keen
