William McCaslin was in the 10th AR Inf Reg Co "C" when he was captured on 29 March, 1864 in Ashley Co, AR. He was sent to Military Prison at Rock Island IL on 17 May, 1864. He enlisted in the US Army for frontier service on 13 Oct, 1864. He must have been in the service for a few years because he is absent from the tax rolls in Van Buren Co, AR for several yrs after the war. His wife and children were on the tax rolls till he returned. Any idea where I can get information on this?
