thank you for your response. However, Silas Vaughan would have been approximately 11 years old in 1851, but since Silas is such an unusual name, there could be some connection.

Their father was Talton or Tarlton Vaughan who was born in KY in 1806, he married Martha Harris in Tennessee and they later migrated to Arkansas through Alabama. They were in the 1850 alabama census.
